Snakes and Ladders

another merciless dawn
has fused my metaphoricals
and shrunk my knackers
for the specimen jar
labelled ‘P S Y C I A T R I C’
.
I cast a pretty thin shadow
in the every now and then
but that’s my modus operandi
wax and wane, ebb and flow
but there are more snakes
than ladders
in my playground
